Post Archiquant - define a condition for each component
Dear developers of Cigraph, dear members of the forum,

I have just started to work with ArchiQuant and I am very impressed about it. It is a really powerful tool to get the masses of a building in no time.
But there is one problem so I can not use the data seriously.
In a bidding there are rules how masses are calculated and when the result is used in the bidding.

For instance, only if the surface of a window is greater than 2m² (square meters), the surface of the facade is reduced by the surface of the window. (If the whole facade is 60m² and there are 3 windows each 1,4m² the resulting surface of the facade is 60m². If the whole facade is 60m² and there are 3 windows each 2,5m² the resulting surface of the facade is 52,5m²)

So when I am calculating the mass of a component in a formula, I need to define a condition when use the result of the mass-calculating-formula and when drop it.

So in the 'edit-formula-window' of ArchiQuant there should be the possibility to define a second formula as condition to the main-formula.

Here a simple example:
Condition: Window_Surface_1 greater than 2 (m²)
Component-formula (e.g.for a sealing-band): Window_Weight_1*2 + Window_Width_1*2 (m)
Only when the Window is greater than 2 squaremeters the component 'sealing-band' is calculated, when the window is smaller than 2m², the component will not be not calculated.

In my opinion, this is the only way to make your marvellous tool proof for practice. Then I can prepare ArchiCad Elements (Favorits) with all needed components, and the masses would then be calculated in that way the rules for calculating masses in bidding specify.

I pray to god that you marvellous fellows at Cigraph will integrate such a 'condition-function' in ArchiQuant soon, as I am looking forward to work in ArchiCad and calculate the correct specified masses in the background. Please make me feel happy soon

I am looking forward to your answer - kind regard from vienna,

yours,
Klaus

Hi Klaus,

it will be implemented very soon... I already collected this request from some users so...
