Post Architerra and Leica Point Clouds
Thought I'd start a new post on this subject.....

I am trying to work with a surveyor that has one of those Leica Geosystems Cyclone Laser Scanners... It can create points to the 1/4" if it wanted to...

To be safe though I am trying to use a point cloud that is at 2' intervals. I can import the points just fine. But my surface when created looks like I have christmas trees all over it.

Am I missing something in my import? Does Architerra round off numbers or something?

This is a snip from the point file:
-54.121235,30.25109,-18.207884,
-144.121177,46.251059,-20.37615,
-132.121225,48.251118,-17.353434,
-146.121236,62.251129,-21.187747,

I read somewhere that Architerra was tested with up to 60,000 points... I am only importing 30,000 points. It says its complex, which it is, but I shouldn't get spikes all over the place. Its in X,Y,Z format, so I don't know what is going on.

Post Ouch....
Post a comment on another topic about the comma and decimal/Europe and USA issues....forget that I need to select the comman/decimal location on the import....

Oops....

Surface looks AWESOME!!! Same as the contours....actually the contours look better than what the Leica system created.... sweet!

Now I have to read the manual and figure out how to change layers and such...

Edit....Spoke too soon....my contour labels are not even...is there a way to fix this? Even being 20' instead of 20'-5 1/2".
