 questions before purchasing ArchiQuant
Hello, I have been using Archiquant in the past few days, and i have some questions.
I use the demo version of ArchiQuant, so i have many limitations, but i have found it very user-friendly. Before buying though i would like to know a couple of things: 1) Is it possible to modify the Components List once it has been saved? I have tried to, and seems i can't. But i do not know if this is because of the demo version. On the manual this thing is pretty unclear. 2) Is it possible to do a "reverse check"? I mean to find where a component has been linked to an Archicad element. I also didn't find anything on the manual but it is very usefull because sometimes when you get a number that doesn't seems right you need a cross-check.
Thanks in advance for your help!

 Re: questions before purchasing ArchiQuant
1. Yes of course. The Demo doesn't let you modify the database 2. You can look for the ArchiCAD elements without not link with ArchiQuant
of course if you have any good suggestion/advice about this we could include new procedures (in the next release) to add new find/select functions.
BTW, I can agree with the fact it's quite difficult to provide the user with a very exhaustive documentation (!) but when you start our Demo version a splash screen appears where there is a button for the Demo Limitation list. If you use this button, under the ArchiQuant Limitation list you can read:
1. Fixed non-editable components database. 2. In the demo version, you can import or create new components databases, but they cannot be used as active components database. 3. The components database included can, however, be used to test all functions of the program.
Friendly Fabrizio

 Re: questions before purchasing ArchiQuant
Hello Fabrizio. Thanks for the answers. Ok for the first answer i was not quite sure if "non editable database" was what i was trying to do. For the second question i think that maybe something is not working. I'm getting a component with zero quantities. This means that i forgott to link a formula, right? But in the find&select option i get no element with empty formula. Why? What i was looking for is the ability to select an archicad element based on the component. For example to select all elements that have "face brick" component linked. That would be great.

 Re: questions before purchasing ArchiQuant
Are you working in a multi-story project? Because, of course, the Find & Select function works just on the elements in the current floor. If this is not the case, please send me your PLN file ( fabrizio.diodati@cigraph.com) and I will check it... friendly Fabrizio
